Two Day Summer Footy Funtastic 2009!

Two Day Summer Footy 'Funtastic' 2009!

Submitted By: Dean Warner, Youth Chairman

The young coaches affiliated to Framlingham Youth Section organised and run two days of fun football in August for 6 to 12 year olds.

Liam Abraham, Rachael Monk and James Arbon were doing this for the fifth time with previous profits going towards training equipment and last year cash was donated to the club to help offset the poor Gala.

This year the uptake was so good they had to recruit the youthful Jim Hillman from under 11 Knights who very kindly volunteered his services. They were also helped by Josh Sprague who is one of the Fram players in an older age group. The first day had 36 participants and, although the weather was poor with the first rain for several weeks falling on the club, the players all had a good time playing fun activities, taking part in drills and playing games of football. They were all presented with a certificate at the end by Syd Vice (Life Vice President).

The second day was quite the opposite for weather with the sun shining on the group of 32 so much that the coaches had to watch for signs of sunstroke. There were more fun drills and games throughout the day. The feedback from the parents was positive for both days and the players all seemed to enjoy themselves.

Liam, Rachael and James would like to thank all the parents for supporting this activity with the profit of £456 this year going to provide a trophy cabinet for use by the youth section to be placed on a

wall in the corridor to the changing rooms as agreed by the club. This should be in place by the end of September 2009.
