Today sees the start of a run of three consecutive home matches against teams around us at the bottom of the division. Framlingham badly need the points from these games as the gap is increasing between us and the Clubs above us. Consequently the results of the three matches may well have a big effect upon our destiny at the season's end.

Last Saturday we rescued a point from the game against Woodbridge Athletic by scoring in the last minute to earn a 2 - 2 draw, but in all honesty we should have won and would have won had we accepted the numerous chances we made.

The Reserves' match was called off due to the unfit pitch as Wenhaston but otherwise they will have been more than happy to learn that rivals, Saxmundham Sports Reserves, lost their match in Intermediate Division B, to keep things level-pegging at the top.

This afternoon we give a warm welcome to the visitors, Coplestonians, their players, officials and supporters to Badingham Road. We lost out to 'Cops' in the Senior Cup way back in October, which not only eliminated us from the competition, but also Framlingham collected a number of coloured cards. That match was not, however, as ill-tempered as this would appear to suggest - it was just that much of whatever we did or said that day didn't please the officials!

Therefore, even though both teams badly need to win, let's hope today's match will provide a fair and sporting encounter which we can all enjoy, whatever the outcome.
