Presidents Corner - Saturday 17 December, 2011

Our first home game for 4 weeks sees us welcome Stanton to Badingham Road this afternoon.

During the intervening period Fram have played 2 away matches, losing both and shipping a lot of goals in the process. The score line in the 6 - 5 defeat at LSM (Leiston St Margarets) was extraordinary and suggests we were somewhat unfortunate not to gain any reward from such a high-scoring encounter. Sorry to say I was unable to be present and cannot really comment any further on this one. The 5 - 0 loss at MSA (Melton St Audrys) last Saturday was uncomfortable to witness although we did play much better in the second half. The disappointment in these two defeats, as in previous matches this term, is out inability to field anything resembling a settles side, due to many varying reasons, and the outcome is that we sit precariously near the foot of the division at the half-way stage of the season. However, I remain convinced we have the players able to improve this situation, and hopefully Mel and Karl will soon have a full complement to select from over the coming weeks and months to pull clear and climb the table. They both remain confident that a fair crack of the whip this can be achieved, and we therefore have to continue our full support towards them and the players in every game, and hope the players themselves will respond in the right manner, for they are more than capable of obtaining a better position for the Club and, in the end, we are reliant upon them to do just that for us.

On the other hand, the Reserves have recorded three victories over the same period, two in the league and one in the Gipping Cup. Well done to Ed and his team on these successes, a real boost following the points deduction penalties they recently suffered for problems incurred in two earlier Intermediate B division matches.

In the Ridgeons Youth League (Central Division), the U18's team have regrettable yet to register a point, but the Club commends Andy and his side on the commitment and spirit they are displaying and they must surely gain some points before too long.

In playing host to Stanton for today's league fixture, we offer a warm welcome to their Club and supporters, and look forward to a good encounter. Obviously I hope we shall be successful with a win as we badly need the points, but whatever the result, I trust we shall all enjoy the game.

Finally, at this time of the year, may I wish each and everyone of you a "Very Happy Christmas".
