    Framlingham has a population of approximately 3,500. The market was granted to the town in about 1285 and this continues twice weekly on the Market Hill. Tourism is an imporatn part of the Framlingham economy - the Castle alone attracts over 80,000 visitors per year. The town centre is designated as a Conservation area and has 74 listed buildings.   • Framlingham Historical Archive

    The idea for creating an historical archive for Framlingham was conceived in 2008, and is now incorporated in The Framlingham and District Local History and Preservation Society. The  Framlingham Historical Archive website portrays a selection of photographs which capture the town and its people over a period of approximately 100 years.

  • Framlingham College and Brandeston Hall

    Framlingham College was founded in 1864 in memory of Prince Albert. Along with its junior school, Brandeston Hall, it provides fully co-educational, fee-paying schooling for ages 3 - 18. In addition to academic success, pupils enjoy a wide range of drama opportunites, the Combined Cadet Force, the Duke Of Edinburgh Award scheme and a variety of sports. Scholarships and bursaries are available to ensure access is open to talented students.
