Framlingham has a population of approximately 3,500. The market was granted to the town in about 1285 and this continues twice weekly on the Market Hill. Tourism is an imporatn part of the Framlingham economy - the Castle alone attracts over 80,000 visitors per year. The town centre is designated as a Conservation area and has 74 listed buildings. Thomas Mills High school stands in its own playing fields and has many strong links with the local community. It has been granted Technology College Status, Language status and more recently Arts Status. There is an extensive programme of extra curricular activites including regular exchanges with schools in France and Germany.

Framlingham College was founded in 1864 in memory of Prince Albert. Along with its junior school, Brandeston Hall, it provides fully co-educational, fee-paying schooling for ages 3 - 18. In addition to academic success, pupils enjoy a wide range of drama opportunites, the Combined Cadet Force, the Duke Of Edinburgh Award scheme and a variety of sports. The 2009/10 season has now ended at Framlingham Town.
The 2010/11 season starts in August for the 1st and Reserve Teams.
