This was the day when the league would be decided and it was between 3 teams - ourselves, Bacton and Wickham Market so there was everything to play for.
The weather was cold and windy but it didn't seem to make that much initial difference as Josh Kerridge scored a superb goal from a swivel volley and warmed everyone up on 4 minutes.
An excellent start along with some quick and accurate passing was great to watch. Jake Steward made it two from a bit of a scramble in the goal mouth after only 10 mins and we were on a roll.
At 18 mins we were stopped in our tracks after Wickham scored from a corner goal mouth scramble which we failed to clear. Oliver Manning made it 3 after 28 minutes and coolly slotted home our fourth after 34 minutes. Just before half time Josh hit another thundering shot which hit the underside of the bar and bounced over the line and the referee gave it for our fifth.
From somewhere the referee found nearly 5 mins of extra time and from a massive goal kick which split our defence Wickham went through and after a clearance from our goal keeper which rebounded off the attacker we found ourselves at 5 - 2 for half time.
We had to make an injury substitution for Harry Figgitt as Ryan Farres came on.
The second half was a completely different game as we played with the strong wind and just couldn't seem to make the passing count as we struggled to control the ball. However there were some great performances from all concerned throughout the match but with no more goals for us in the second half.
Two more substitutions were made with Jake Saunders and Craig Attmere playing an active part. Wickham gained another break away goal after 78 mins and the referee found another 10 mins extra time from somewhere but we managed to put in a solid performance to secure the win.
Bacton won their game 6-1 so this means we finished on equal points with Bacton and won the league by a goal difference of 3 - a great performance throughout the season has secured a fantastic league win.
Goal scorers: Josh Kerridge (2) , Oliver Manning (2) and Jake Steward
Man of the match: Oliver Hudson for a true captains performance.
