Well Done Framlingham Town girls!!!! A fantastic result.
As the Framlingham Town Girls team arrived on Sunday morning there seemed to be a sense of trepidation in the air and understandably so. Copleston SC had only recently lost 2-1 to Kirton Kestrels and with our recent defeat to Kirton Kestrels probably still on their minds could this be history repeating itself.
Once the team had changed into their kit however the mood seemed to change with talk of improving on their last performance, and that is exactly what they did.
Referee Connor Harris promptly blew his whistle at 10.30am and the Girls got straight into the action. It was instantly apparent that any nerves had been left back in the changing rooms and the team’s determination became immediately obvious. Movement was more fluid with the use of space and pace more deliberate and focused. They were having a good time playing with self belief and enjoying their new found abilities.
This same intention and focus ran throughout the entirety of the match and it was a delight to watch the team putting up such a united front, it was clear they had taken on board what we have worked on in training and applied it with great energy, they did themselves and the club proud.
From where I was standing the Supporters from both sides were being thoroughly entertained and a big thanks goes out to them as well as James and all the Copleston SC team for their encouragement support and excellent behaviour. Good luck with your fundraising.
A special mention goes to Referee Connor Harris for his exceptional management of the game and the two young linesmen who provided such excellent support; it was a joy being part of a youth match being officiated by youths applying such high standard of fair play and professionalism, a true expression of their love of the beautiful game.
Finally thank you to young Master William Johnson for his passionate encouragement and support on the touchline; he really does know all the Manager motivational phrases. Surely a future Framlingham Town FC Manager in the making.
